Questions
1. What conditions do sansevieria like?
Sansevieria prefer bright, indirect light and can even tolerate some direct sunlight. However, they also grow well (albeit more slowly) in shady corners and other low-light areas of the home. Tip: Try to avoid moving your plant from a low-light area to direct sunlight too quickly, as this can shock the plant.
2. What is the best way to water sansevieria?
Sansevieria don't need much water – just water whenever the soil is dry. Make sure you let the water drain away fully – do not let the plant sit in water as this may cause the roots to rot. Snake plants need very little water in winter. Feed once a month from April to September.
3. Do sansevieria like to be misted?
Unlike many other plants, sansevieria do not like to be misted. There's no need to mist them, as they have thick leaves that help them store water for when they need it. Some people believe that misting them may increase the humidity level in the room, but this isn't effective.
